Trick Dog Training
Teaching tricks such as retrieving items for you (toys, keys, lost objects), rolling over, sitting pretty, shaking head “yes” and “no,” riding a skateboard, ‘speaking’ or ‘doing the wave’ allows you to give your dog a purpose and expend his/her mental energy in a positive and productive manner. This class is also an excellent class for helping you, the teacher, in developing a higher level of teaching and communication skills with your canine.
Physical & Mental Stimulation
This training class offers you and your dog many wonderful benefits. Dogs need both physical and mental stimulation in order to be emotionally and mentally happy and healthy – teaching them tricks gives them an outlet for both. Many dogs develop behavior problems because their mental energy is not being focused in a positive direction, even if they’re being physically challenged every day.
This class is unlimited in what your dog will learn. The focus is not only teaching tricks but more so on teaching you the four basic techniques of teaching tricks to dogs. Once you understand how to train a trick there is no limit to what you can teach your dog to do.
You will also learn how to teach your dog creativity. Yes, dogs can learn to be creative and “invent” new behaviors and tricks. This is a very fun and stimulating exercise that allows your dog to expand on his/her capabilities and behaviors in a very exciting and often mind-boggling way!
How To Teach a Dog Tricks
You will learn how to use teaching tools, such as free-shaping and targeting, which professional animal trainers use when training new behaviors. You will also learn how to ‘capture’ your dog’s behaviors as well as lure and guide behaviors. This is a fun and empowering class for both you and your dog.
